How does it work?

Mobile LCR uses the intelligence of your SmartPhone to intercept your outgoing international calls (starting with 00 or +) and redirect them through an independent network operator to take advantage of vastly cheaper international call rates. In conjunction with our international network provider Mobile LCR will allow you to make cheaper international calls from anywhere in the world.

How much does it cost?

The Mobile LCR handset application is totally free, download it here. To enable you to take advantage of cheap international call rates you will need to setup an account with our telecommunications partner Gotalk™. In doing so your international call cost will be debited from your prepaid account as you use it. There is no subscription or contractual commitment, simply click here to set up an account and take advantage of our current offer of £2 free credit on your new account.

What is a Gotalk™ account?


We have partnered with Gotalk™ to deliver your international call to its destination across their high quality worldwide network. You will need a Gotalk account to allow your handset to make international calls across this network.

Why must I have an account with Gotalk™?

Mobile LCR requires a telecommunications network to route your international calls across. We have partnered with Gotalk™ so you can take advantage of the best international call rates around. Visit Gotalk™ and open an account now to get £2 free credit and start saving £’s on your international calls.

Is there a long term contractual commitment?

No, there is no contract to enter into. Simply download Mobile LCR, sign up to our free £2 credit when you open your Gotalk account and start saving.

What if I have a ‘free inclusive minutes’ contract with my operator?

In this case all your international calls that are routed through Mobile LCR will use your free inclusive minutes as if you were calling a UK destination. Once these inclusive minutes have been used you will incur your standard landline call rate.

How will I be charged?

Both your Gotalk™ account and your existing mobile account will be debited as you make your international calls. Your mobile account will be debited to make the call to the local access number however, if you have free inclusive minutes on your mobile account these will be used for calls made from the UK. Your Gotalk™ account will be debited with the international call cost.

How do I view my account and call history?

Which phones are supported?

Currently all Nokia handsets running Symbian Series 60 v3 are supported although Symbian/UIQ and Windows Mobile are coming soon. The list of supported handsets is being expanded frequently so please check here for supported phones list.

How do I know whether my phone is supported?

Is a licence required?


No, we charge nothing for the application so you can install it on any supported handset without breaking any licencing conditions. You will need to add further CLI’s to your Gotalk account to ensure your calls are recognized and routed correctly.

Can I use it on more than one handset?

Yes, to take advantage of vastly cheaper international calls we recommend you install the application on all supported handsets in your family or business. Don’t forget to add the additional CLI’s on to your Gotalk account.

What if I change my handset?

No problem, simply use your existing SIM in the new handset, download a new copy of Mobile LCR from uk.mlcr.mobi and start calling! Don’t worry about deleting Mobile LCR from your old handset – you are recognised by your CLI so nobody will be able to use your account.

What if I change my mobile number?


Simply log into your Gotalk™ account and change the CLI details to remove your old number and add the new one. Do not simply add a new number, you should remove the old one too.

What is my CLI?

Caller Line Identity, this is your mobile number which is used to identify your calls to allow them to be routed using your Gotalk™ account. You must ensure that your handset is not set to hide its CLI, if this option is used then we will not be able to route your calls because we need to know who is calling.

What international call rates will I be able to take advantage of?

Will Mobile LCR work outside of the UK?

Mobile LCR was designed from the outset to support international dialing to and from any worldwide destination. The basic version of Mobile LCR is for UK use only, you can receive your free worldwide Mobile LCR product to take advantage of the best rates to and from any country by simply contacting us at info@mobsoft.com

What if I take my handset out of the UK?

If you use the standard version of Mobile LCR for UK use only then it will detect you are outside of the UK and automatically disable. If you are using the worldwide version of Mobile LCR then your international calls will be routed to a country specific access number if one exists or Mobile LCR will be automatically disabled if there is no access number. Does it affect the normal operation of my handset?

No, the application operates in the background. This will have no effect on the operation of your handset. The only difference to be noticed is the status icon in the handset home screen.

Do I need to have a data plan?


No, it will make downloading and installing the application a little quicker as you will not need to download and connect to your PC however the application does not need data access.

I have an international calling plan from, is this a problem?

No, but your existing mobile operator calling plan will not be used as all calls will be routed through your Gotalk™ account.

Should I expect worse quality from my international calls?

Certainly not, your calls travel across your standard mobile operators’ network and are then routed to your destination via our partners’ high quality international network. In many cases your calls will have a higher quality than if you called directly via your mobile operator.

Do I need to enter a PIN number or access number?

Mobile LCR works by recognizing your CLI and charging your prepaid account so no PIN number is required. Your call is automatically directed to the correct access number depending on your worldwide location so all you need to do is know who you are calling!

How will I know if my call has been routed?


When you dial an international number you will notice the message ‘Redirecting call to’, this shows that the call has been routed to the local access number. You will not see this number in the recently dialed numbers list but you will see the actual number dialed.

How do I install the application on my handset?


Simply browse to uk.mlcr.mobi from your handset and select the link to install. Mobile LC is a Symbian Signed™ application so should install automatically. However, if you are asked to save the file to a folder you should select the Installed Files folder on phone memory. Once downloaded you can use File Manager to select the installed file (LCR_S9_UK.SIS) and follow the instructions.

Mobile LCR is activated automatically after install and after handset restart/reboot. However, if you do not see the status icon (green ‘tick’ symbol) at any time then you should select Applications > Mobile LCR > Options > Activate.

Can I disable Mobile LCR?


There should be no need to disable the application but if you need to do so simply select the application from Applications > Mobile LCR and choose Options > De-activate. Choose Options Activate to re-activate the application.

Can I remove Mobile LCR?

Yes, just like any other application on your phone you can highlight it in the Applications folder and select Remove from the Options menu.

Is it secure or could other people use my account?

It is very secure, only the CLI’s that you have entered on your account information will be recognised and routed.

Can I have one account with multiple CLI’s or handsets?

Yes, your account can be shared across multiple handsets, all you have to do is add the CLI’s to your account and make sure the Mobile LCR application is installed on all the handsets.

Is there a minimum or maximum call limit?


No, the only limit is the credit that exists on your Gotalk™ account. You can choose to have an auto top-up feature on your account to make sure you are never caught out.

Which calls will Mobile LCR re-route?

All international calls will be re-routed, these being calls prefixed with 00 or +. Calls from your contacts folder, recent calls lists and embedded numbers will all be re-routed automatically.

What happens to UK calls?

These are called as normal and charged through your existing mobile operator account.

Will I be charged by my mobile service provider for any international calls?

No. All of your international calls will be routed using MobileTalk.

The call seems to take longer than a standard mobile call, is this OK?


Yes, a delay of between 15-25 seconds is normal before you are connected to your destination. This is due to different handsets, operators and destinations and the fact that there is an additional call to the local access number first.

I hear two dial tones when calling internationally, is this OK?

Yes, the first is the local gateway and the second is your destination

Will my Bluetooth headset or carphone kit work?

Yes, Mobile LCR does not interfere with the operation of any additional handset hardware or software.
